NJTESOL-NJBE Mission Statement

NJTESOL/NJBE, Inc. is a not-for-profit professional and educational organization whose purposes are:

  1. To actively support the development of bilingual education and the teaching of English as a Second Language;
  2. To strengthen instruction at all levels;
  3. To disseminate educational information as related to professional development;
  4. To provide educational services such as workshops, conferences, and consulting assistance;
  5. To promote scholarship and foster research in first and second language acquisition and bilingual/bicultural studies; and
  6. To cooperate in appropriate ways with other groups having similar interests and concerns.

1/19 (snow date: 1/26) Bergen-Passaic Chapter: Speaking in Tongues At a time when 31 states have passed English Only laws, four pioneering families put their children into public schools where, from the first day of Kindergarten, their teachers speak mostly Chinese or Spanish. Speaking in Tongues follows four diverse kids on a journey to become bilingual.

All articles must have a byline (YOUR NAME) which contains your specific job information (NAME, TELEPHONE #, E-MAIL ADDRESS). Articles should be approximately 500 words total. PHOTOS MUST BE LABELED and be in either black and white or sharp color; digital photos are preferable if the resolution is 300dpi. Any Internet links in articles must be checked for accuracy.

Articles missing any of the above information will not be considered and not returned.
It is the sender’s responsibility to provide all necessary correct information.
